Istanbul is a big and beautiful city in Turkey. It is special because it is on two continents: Europe and Asia.

History:

Istanbul is very old. It was once called Byzantium and later Constantinople. You can see many old buildings and places, like:

  • Hagia Sophia: A big and famous church-turned-mosque.
  • Topkapi Palace: Where the Ottoman sultans lived.
  • Blue Mosque: A beautiful mosque with blue tiles.

Bosphorus Strait:

The Bosphorus Strait is a waterway that divides Istanbul into two parts: European and Asian. You can take a boat ride on the Bosphorus and see amazing views.

Getting Around:

Istanbul has many ways to travel around the city:

  • Buses: Good for long distances.
  • Trams: Fast and convenient in the city.
  • Ferries: Boats that travel between the European and Asian sides.

Friendly People
